CASE PREPARATION
What to prepare before a blockchain investigation
Begin with a short timeline. Record when you first encountered the person or platform, when payments were made and when the problem became apparent. Separate what you observed from what you were told.
Collect transaction IDs, public wallet addresses, the blockchain used, dates and amounts. Keep relevant account statements, platform URLs and communications together. Retain original records alongside any summary you make.
Explain any missing details when requesting a review. Never include passwords, private keys, seed phrases or authentication codes in an enquiry.
